I'm a mother, wife, photographer, artist. I feel the most comfortable either behind a camera or with a paintbrush in hand! Life tells a story and I love to be able to capture that story in my own words without having to speak a single syllable.

I am relatively new to the wonderful world of watercolors. I began my journey of discovery in January of 2017 and haven't put the brush down since.

I got my start in watercolor six years ago by trying out a class while vacationing in Southwest Florida, for something to do. I was hooked! After, I joined a watercolor class taught by Howard VanBuren in Upstate NY. (Howard's website may be found at Vanburen-art.com) I painted several (shown below) paintings in his classes over the course of a year or so, and I began to develop skills under the guidance of his instruction. Below are several of the images he taught during classes I took with him, at the beginning of my watercolor journey. Howard's classes are taught in a paint along style,  He pre-sketches his designs onto the watercolor paper and  takes his students though each step, teaching many techniques that I now carry into my own creations.

 

Gradually, I began to develop my own style, by learning from some of my favorites either in physical class or through online instruction. My "style" is now being developed by gleaning techniques learned from classes from my some of favorite watercolor artists; Howard Vanburen,  Maria Raczynska and Peter Sheeler.
